During October 15 – October 17, GCC organized a 3-days long health camp at Ekhalspur Center of Health (ECOH), Ekhlaspur, Chandpur with local support from Dhaka University and ECOH. A team of 19 members participated in this program to provide healthcare service to the previously selected participants of Ekhlaspur. This time, through this program PHC healthcare service were given to a total of 206 participants with doctor consultancy support.
Dr. Ashir Ahmed, Director of GCC and Associate Professor of Kyushu University, and Dr. Fumihiko Yokota, Lecturer of Kyushu University, Japan visited this healthcare program and observed the overall PHC health checkup activities of GCC team.
The objective of this program was to create awareness among people living in Ekhlaspur and promote importance of preventive healthcare. By this program, some patients got their health status poor but they did not know of it before as they did not go through any thorough health checkup in recent past. The participants remarked this as a very useful initiative and expressed a great appreciation for the program. They expected to have such programs again in future also.
